‘Person Killed Over Dossier:’ Congress Releases Stunning Fusion GPS Testimony

The August, 2017 testimony of Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson before the Senate Judiciary Committee was just made public today, and what was inside it is more horrifying than anyone imagined.

The Daily Caller reported that the testimony revealed that the publication of the infamous anti-Trump dossier resulted in the death of at least one person. This was revealed by Fusion GPS lawyer Joshua Levy during the testimony before the committee.

A transcript from the testimony shows that Levy instructed Simpson to avoid discussing sources for the dossier because an unidentified person had already been killed over the salacious document.

“It’s a voluntary interview, and in addition to that he wants to be very careful to protect his sources. Somebody’s already been killed as a result of the publication of this dossier and no harm should come to anybody related to this honest work,” Levy told Jason Foster, an investigator for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley.

Foster had just asked the Fusion GPS co-founded what steps he took to assess the credibility of sources used in the dossier, which was compiled by former MI-6 agent Christopher Steele. It is not clear whether Levy was referring to someone being murdered over the dossier, or if he was talking about rumors in the media that have popped up since the publication.

Some members of the media have guessed that ex-KGB chief Oleg Erovkinin was killed because he was a source for the dossier. Erovkinin had been chief of staff for Igor Sechin, a close ally of Vladimir Putin’s and the president of Russian oil giant Rosneft.

The dossier accuses Sechin of communicating directly with Trump campaign adviser Carter Page as part of a collusion conspiracy. Page has said this is false and denied ever even meeting Sechin.

The dossier was published by BuzzFeed News on Jan. 10, 2017, and Erovkinin was found dead in his car on Dec. 26, 2016. There is much speculation, however, that Russia caught wind of the dossier before it was published.
